Commenting on the Great British Insulation Scheme, Energy UK’s Policy Manager. Louise Shooter said:
“Improving the energy efficiency of UK homes through installing insulation is the most effective way of permanently reducing customers’ energy bills, boosting UK energy security through reducing gas demand, and in turn reducing carbon emissions. With energy bills set to remain higher than had been the case 18 months ago for the foreseeable future, the chance to save hundreds of pounds by having an energy efficient home is more valuable than ever. “The Great British Insulation Scheme provides welcome financial support for households via their energy supplier – but with the Climate Change Committee describing the next ten years as a ‘crucial period’ for decarbonising buildings, and millions more draughty properties left to upgrade, the Government should ramp up its support for households to invest in energy efficiency measures.” |
